Wouldn't you know it. Old Flappy Hands made two sensational saves in the final minutes as Manchester United stormed back for a 3-3 draw after falling behind by three goals.
Love them or hate them, the Manchester United players are savage and relentness. Wayne Rooney absolutely had to take both penalty kicks. In the middle of the rally was old Giggsy, Ryan Giggs, 38, oldest man in the match, keeping up with players more than a decade younger. And old Scholesy, Paul Scholes, 37, back from retirement, reminding the new boys how Man U never gives up. What a show. Thank you, Fox. And all this action in less than two hours. Good luck to American football later on.

I wonder what Wynalda had to say afterwards. Those two late saves were great work

Charlie, missed it, because I ran upstairs to give credit to Old Flappy Hands. The main press tribune at Stamford Bridge is right behind the visitors' bench. That would have been some scene to be sitting behind Sir Alex when the lads got into gear in the 2/2. My best to an esteemed colleague and friend. GV 2/5/2012 10:13:15 am
The guys at OB Clarks were screaming. What a great game. Shouldn't he be Young Flappy Hands? Comments are closed.

“They may hate the cultural context they now find themselves teaching in, but they love their work. The Achilles’ heel of schoolteachers, one all too easily exploited by politicians, is that they love their students.” (One of the best reads in the NYT these days is Margaret Renkl, in Nashville. In her latest post, Renkl describes the dedicated core of “born teachers” – the majority, she submits.) *** (From Madeleine Albright in one of her final interviews in February): “Putin is small and pale,” I wrote, “so cold as to be almost reptilian.” He claimed to understand why the Berlin Wall had to fall but had not expected the whole Soviet Union to collapse. “Putin is embarrassed by what happened to his country and determined to restore its greatness.” – Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, recalling her first meeting with the relatively unknown Vladimir Putin in 2000. – The New York Times, Feb. 23, 2022.
